Do you sit around dreaming what you wish your life would be like? It is time you stop dreaming and start living the life you dream about. “If you can dream it, you can do it.” ~Walt Disney. Walt Disney accomplished many wonderful things that are enjoyed by so many today by acting on his dreams and bringing them to life.
Three steps you need to do now to live your dream!
Step 1: Define your passion
What do you wish you were doing right now? Do you want to travel more, vacation on the beach or in the mountains, spend more time with family, have more time for yourself, a different job or a different boss, work from home, work for yourself and have your own schedule, make a difference in the world by taking a mission trip, work with animals, or volunteer for your favorite organization? It could be several things put together.
For example, I am passionate about getting to work from home on my own schedule as a lifestyle and health coach helping others. I get extra time with my kids and we use the extra money for one or two Disney vacations a year as well as donate to reputable charities and those that help women and children around the world. I am passionate about Mission of Hope and sponsoring children to help feed them and provide them an education. One day we will get to travel there.
Step 2: Have a vision and make a plan
What do you need to do in order to make your dream a reality? You can go back to school, take a certification class, find a mentor, find extra time, or prioritize and get organized. A good planner will help you get organized and on track and make the most of your time. Goals and priorities should be written down monthly and daily to keep you on task. Prioritize the top five things you need to accomplish the next day the night before and choose the least favorite three and do those first. A vision board allows you to put your dreams in front of you. A picture tells a thousand words and when it is in front of you, it will be constant motivation to get you there.
Step 3: Take action and work on your mindset
You need to stop dreaming and start doing. No more excuses! When you want something bad enough, you will find time and a way. You should start reading self-development books, as self-doubt will take you out. Your mindset is a big piece of you and time to let go of all of the negative self-talk. A healthy habit is to read before you go to bed, as you will go to sleep with those positive words instead of thinking about all the activities you have to do the next day.
I am not saying it is going to be easy, but I am saying it will be worth it! Your life is meant to be lived with passion and on purpose. No more excuses, no more doubt, and no more fear. You are meant for greatness!
